LITTLE BOX OF NATURE
OUR MISSION
SCROLL DOWN
We understand how important it is that children spend time outdoors, and so we have made it our personal mission to make it as easy as possible for busy families to be able to do just that. Our boxes are designed to keep little ones thoroughly entertained whilst out on walks and best of all they learn whilst they are doing it. We know getting outdoors is not always possible, so we also include two nature inspired craft activities with every box to keep them inspired in the wonderful wildlife the UK has to offer. These crafts have all supplies included so no more running around looking for scissors and glue!
MEET THE OWNER
Hi! I'm Kayleigh Atherton, founder of Little Box of Nature and a busy mum of two based in the beautiful Cheshire. I am lucky enough to have had a nature filled childhood, spent building dens, climbing trees, collecting frog spawn and my younger self’s favourite activity, catching grasshoppers! These happy memories are so important to me, and something I believe all children should have. Being out in nature has so many benefits both physically and mentally, and if our children know more about the wonderful world around them, they are more likely to want to care for it. It is my personal mission to make it as easy as possible for this to happen which is why I created Little Box of Nature.
HOW DID LITTLE BOX OF NATURE BEGIN?
In 2017 we welcomed our first child and I was very excited to be able to enjoy nature together as a family. What I quickly began to realise was that even the simplest activity, like going for a walk in the woods was much harder with a young child; they need stimulation and were very easily bored. What I really needed was something to do on the walks that would engage my daughter whilst also teaching her about the beautiful things around her – and so I came up with Little Box of Nature.
Little Box of Nature is not just an exciting surprise for kids that comes through the letterbox each month, it is also an amazing tool for parents. Everything in one box means there is no longer pressure on parents to come up with games when you’re out on your walks, and even better, the information sheets mean the family can learn together too.
Learning through play is also important, so there are two craft packs in each edition with clear instructions and all supplies included (no more frantic google searches for fun crafts or searching for glue).
Little Box of Nature was created to be something that the whole family benefit from and we are so happy and excited to continue to do this for many years to come.
